Job Description:
Sanitation Lead
Shift: 7am - 3pm including weekend schedule
Pay rate: $20.18/hr
Assists in the training of the workforce in proper use of - and
storage of - cleaning chemicals. Maintains SDS files for all
chemicals and logs their usage.
Helps to maintain the necessary inventory levels for cleaning
supplies, sanitation chemicals and detergents, restroom supplies,
etc.
Adheres to all SOP's and assures fellow workers are kept informed
of any changes and additions.
Updates the MSS in accordance with those tasks assigned by the
Manager; properly fills out all required documentation on his/her
assigned shift.
Assures the scheduled start times for employees is followed and
reports any absentee/tardy issues to the manager.
Routinely inspects the plant and premises, follows up on any
deficiencies, tracks and documents the proper cleaning and
sanitizing of production equipment.
Works with the Sanitation Manager, QA Director and Safety Manager
to comply with - and participate in - all mandatory training of
employees; LO/TO; HazCom; Spill Prevention; PPE; Safety Awareness;
Confined Space; etc.
Develops a positive working relationship with production, quality,
and maintenance personnel, both the hourly workers and the managers
of each department.
Sets the example for his coworkers through proper use of PPE's,
working safely at all time, adherence to plant rules, compliance
with GMP's and all Food Safety related rules and activities.
Actively participates with Maintenance and Production in the
purchasing and set up of new equipment; helps develop the SOPs for
new cleaning equipment throughout the plant.

Education/Qualification Requirements:
Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and
effectively.
Reading and comprehension abilities for proper use of chemicals
Must be able to follow Occupational Safety and Health
Administration guidelines when using and storing chemicals.
Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of national Food
safety initiatives by strict compliance to all Dept. of Ag &
Markets, SQF and AIB
safety protocols and procedures.
As needed, must be able to work all shifts, weekends.
Knowledge and understanding of principles and methods of training
and instruction.
General knowledge of all cleaning equipment operation.
Excellent knowledge of Production.
Reports all safety incidents that occur in their area of
responsibility.
Behaves and encourages others to behave safely.
Work Environment/Physical Demand

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is
regularly required to stand, squat, kneel, walk, use hands to
finger, grasp, talk, hear and perform repetitive motions.
The individual is frequently required to push and pull. The
individual is occasionally required to climb, balance, reach, and
lift.
Fast-paced manufacturing operation; can be noisy at times.
Some work is outside, so must be able to handle inclement weather
while working.
Frequent walking, stooping, bending, twisting and occasional
climbing on top of equipment and buildings.
Occasional work in confined spaces and frequently amongst
high-speed mechanical equipment.
Occasional lifting is required; any weight over 50 lbs. must use
available mechanical devices and/or the buddy system.
Frequently in wet environments, using hot water and chemicals, must
use PPE at all time.
Quality & Food Safety:
- Comply with BRC, HACCP and GMP policies and procedures, as well
as FDA and USDA regulations.

Scope or Scale:
Comply with all hygiene, environmental, health and safety
requirements as laid down in policy and as trained.
Responsible for maintaining good hygiene within the business unit
line with regulatory, company and customer
