THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Therapeutic Activities Aide, your work will be focused on implementing therapeutic activities for assigned clients. This includes physical, vocational, self-help, audio-visual, personal hygiene, grooming, and social activities, as well as environmental excursions and community training. You will have the opportunity to interact with the clients on an individual or group basis, carrying out program plans, encouraging client participation, as well as directing and assisting clients in these activities so that each client may derive the maximum individual benefits from participation. Additional responsibilities include:Maintaining equipment and materialsActing as a resource person for other Aides and staffRecording attendance of clients engaged in work trainingObserving and reporting client behaviorTransporting clients on and off campusAttending trainings and meetings Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employmentWork hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:Six months of experience as an Aide Trainee (commonwealth title); orSix months of work experience providing care to individuals requiring assistance with daily activities; orAn equivalent combination of experience and training. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
