Modis, a leader in the staffing industry, is working with our client to assist them in identifying a candidate to fill a SQL DBA Job located in Akron, OH.  This is an opportunity to join this large, global, premier employer.
 
Description:
• Performance tuning, backup assurance on-call support, off-hours support. Will assist with general M/S Windows server issues for SQL hosts
• May cross train into SAP DB2 LUW support.  Conducts complete diagnostics of most business problems, factoring in a strong understanding of the technical architecture. Anticipates implementation obstacles.
• Participates in the analysis of vendor proposals, project plans, vendor coordination, testing. Responsible for all aspects of SQL Server administration including installation, patching, troubleshooting, performance tuning, monitoring and resolution of application integration issues.
 
Requirements:
• 4-5 years of database administration primarily focused on SQL DBA tasks including; performance tuning, maintenance and monitoring of the database, and implementation of the database environment.
• Related experience with the Microsoft technology stack such as; SSIS, SSRS, T-SQL would be a plus.
• Bachelor degree and/or equivalent related experience a must.
• Database clustering and experience working with third party tools is strongly desired.
• Excellent customer service and communication skill is a must
• Availability to take rotational on call from a remote level is required.
