  • MedSurg - Level 8 position at Weirton Medical Center
  • Common diagnoses include Pneumonia, UTI, AMS, GI bleed, Alcohol withdrawal, falls/weakness
  • Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5-7 on days, 1:6-8 on nights
  • Job Duties include Vitals, BGM's, EKG's, applying heart monitor, bathing, feeding, toileting, turning and positioning
  • RNs required to titrate drips with exceptions, no cardiac drip titration
  • Floating and shift pull rotation may occur to other MS, MS-Tele, or IMC for lower acuity patients
    • Job Requirements
    • BLS certification required
    • RN License required
    • 1 year of experience required
    • First time travelers accepted
      • Schedule Information
      • Shifts: RNs 7-7, CNAs 6-6
      • No self-scheduling or block scheduling
      • Schedule made by the manager with flexibility for requested time off
      • Every other weekend required
      • May be asked to participate in Holiday Rotation
        • Unit Specific Information
        • 1 day Educator/Computer System orientation
        • 1 day with a preceptor for unit-specific orientation
        • Scrub Color: RN - Navy blue, PCT - Ceil Blue, Secretaries - Black and pink
          • Additional Details
          • # of Beds: 48
          • Charge Nurse on each shift takes patient assignment
          • Monitor tech located on level 5 reads and monitors telemetry
          • RT administers breathing treatments, inhalers, ABGs, and manages respiratory equipment
